The main idea of this article is to extend the construction of Chow motives to that of equivariant Chow motives, using the equivariant intersection theory developed by Edidin and Graham for smooth complete varieties endowed with an algebraic group action. A brief review of Edidin and Graham's theory is given. Then it is shown how Grothendieck's construction of motives can be extended to the equivariant case. Motivic versions of several results involving equivariant Chow groups are proven.
