The authors consider a detailed comparison of several different numerical techniques in the study of electron thermalization in the inert-gases at low initial energies of the order of several \(eV\). A detailed comparison of different numerical methods of solution of the Lorentz-Fokker-Planck equation for the electron distribution functions is attempted. The methods include a pseudospectral method referred to as the quadrature discretization method.
