Conditions for the exponential stability of systems described by linear discrete-time Volterra equations in terms of the solvability of some auxiliary operator equations are presented. It is noted that the method for obtaining these conditions resembles the one for studying the problem of accumulation of perturbations of ordinary differential equations. The coefficient conditions for exponential stability of some particular equations are obtained using the second Lyapunov method. It is noted that this approach is applicable to other classes of discrete-time equations as well.
