Laser beam radius optimization in the action on a solid (Q1281227)

An investigation of the process of evaporation of a surface of a rigid body on exposure to a constant laser beam is presented. A goal of investigation is bringing out some general laws of such effects. On the basis of a mathematical model the problem of optimization of the radius of the laser beam is formulated. In computing an optimal (the maximal) radius of the laser beam for getting the maximum of the surface evaporation some different factors were taken into account. The necessary of optimizing the radius of the laser beam is demonstrated by some graphs representing the speed of vaporization as a function of the radius of the laser beam.
