The authors show how to construct a class of Chen submanifolds of Euclidean space from certain given Chen submanifolds. Using the notion of 1-minimal immersion, they obtain examples which are partial tubes. Many examples of nontrivial Chen submanifolds of dimension \(>2\) with flat normal connection are obtained.
