\textit{R. A. Proctor} in [Invent. Math. 92, No. 2, 307-332 (1988; Zbl 0621.22009)] defined a family of Laurent polynomials, called odd symplectic Schur functions, and showed that they behave like characters. In the present paper, the author confirmes a conjecture of Proctor regarding odd symplectic Schur functions, that is Conjecture 5.1 in the above-mentioned paper.
