Some new families of filtration four in the stable homotopy of spheres (Q1284272)

For primes \(p\geq 5\) the author constructs four infinite families of non-trivial \(p\)-torsion elements in the stable homotopy groups of the spheres. The elements are of filtration 4 in the Adams spectral sequence. The results are a simple consequence of a more general result on permanent cycles in the Adams spectral sequence, which is proved using derivations of maps between \(M\)-module spectra where \(M\) is the mod \(p\) Moore spectrum.
