After a detailed discussion of different models of turbulence, the authors develop an asymptotic matching technique for large Reynolds numbers, which can be applied to many models proposed in the literature. The results are illustrated by the applications to \(k-\varepsilon\) transport model and to Baldwin-Lomax model. The comparisons with numerial results are presented in the final part of the paper.
