The author presents a slight modification of the axioms for absolute planes as given in [\textit{H. Karzel}, \textit{K. Sörensen}, and \textit{D. Windelberg}: Eine Einführung in die Geometrie, Göttingen (1973; Zbl 0248.50001)]. His effords reduce the set of axioms by one and yield a somewhat more stringent form of the compatibility conditions for incidence, order, and congruence.
