The authors study an integrodifferential system modeling a forest with diffusion and spatial average. They prove existence of nonnegative steady states. By means of the theory of analytic semigroups and spectral analysis the conditions of local exponential stability and instability of the steady states are obtained. By the method of upper and lower solutions results on global stability of zero solutions are proved.
