Dynamic systems described by ordinary differential equations with nonlinearities are considered. The author proposes to approximate the input-output behaviour of such systems by transfer functions consisting of a sum of pure delays. Different methods for parameter determination are described. The influence of the parameter selection on the modeling error is investigated. The method is illustrated by examples. Possible additional applications are discussed.
