Let \(k\) be a field containing the third roots of unity. The author shows that every finite--dimensional absolutely simple nonsingular Jordan division algebra of degree three over \(k\) contains a cyclic cubic subfield. In particular, this holds for every Albert (exceptional central simple Jordan) division algebra over a field of characteristic \(3\).
