This paper is concerned with the well-known link of the orghogonal polynomials and the theory of Padé approximations. The author uses properties of Legendre polynomials to construct diagonal Padé approximants for \(\exp(x)\), \(\tan x\) and \(\tanh x\). Further, Gauss quadrature formula is applied to find the denominators of the Padé approximants of functions represented by certain integrals.
