It is proved that any knot or link can arise as the real part of the Milnor fibre in a deformation of a suitable space curve singularity. The knots seem to occur only in curves with large multiplicity, respectively large Milnor, number. It is proved that no curve of multiplicity 3 can have a knotted real Milnor fibre and conjectured that this is true for Milnor number less than 10.
