Equations of the form \(u_t=(u^{n+2}u_x^n)_x+\varepsilon F(t,x,u,u^nu^n_x)\) are considered in this paper. The authors represent approximate symmetries for some of that equations. Conditions for these symmetries to be exact are investigated. Wide classes of equations of the indicated form admitting algebras of exact point symmetries are found.
