Teaching wavelets in XploRe (Q1297842)

The article is devoted to the www-tutorial on wavelets developed by the authors (\texttt{http://wotan.viwi.hu-berlin.de}). The tutorial contains HTML and PostScript files and example programs implemented for the XploRe software environment. In 8 lessons of the tutorial father and mother function, wavelet function approximation, data compression, distribution of empirical wavelet coefficients, correspondence of wavelet transform and signal properties, hard and soft thresholding and image denoising are considered.
