Let \(K\) be a field containing the field \(GF(5^2)\). The plane collineation group \(PGL_3(K)\) has the alternating group \(A_7\) as a subgroup. The author constructs a geometry that explains this occurence of \(A_7\) and that exhibits all the maximal subgroups of \(A_7\).
