The concept of paracompactness of a fuzzy topological space by \textit{M.-K. Luo} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 130, 55-77 (1988; Zbl 0642.54006)] is generalized to an arbitrary fuzzy set. The author also gives some characterizations of paracompact fuzzy sets in weakly induced fuzzy topological spaces. More detailed discussion on this topic may be found in [\textit{Y.-M.
