The author presents a method for solving general boundary value problems arising by the determination of stress-strain state in metal forming processes under finite deformations. The method is based on the principle of virtual velocities and stresses. The solution satisfies approximately constitutive equations, and precisely some of the equations of continuum mechanics. Selected test examples illustrate the proposed method.
