The article presents results of numerical axisymmetric collapse analysis for elastic-viscoplastic circular cylindrical shells under axial compression, based on a finite rotation shell theory accounting for contact between shell walls. The strains are assumed to be small. The author uses finite elements analysis, and performs a comparison between the results obtained and the corresponding results in the existing literature.
