Starting from the model of discrete Boltzmann equation proposed by \textit{R. Gatignol} [Complex Syst. 1, No. 4, 709-725 (1987; Zbl 0652.76053)], the author analyses the dispersion relation of forced sound propagation in rarefied gases, and compares the theoretical results with some experiments.
