The author investigates the axisymmetric steady deformation of a polymeric drop which moves in a steady uniaxial extensional flow of Newtonian fluid. The Chilcott-Rallison fluid model is used for the fluid drop. By applying the finite-difference method, the author uses a numerically generated orthogonal boundary-fitted coordinate system. The results shown in figures demonstrate that effect of polymer on the deformation and shape of the drop is complicated.
