Let \(K\) be the Cantor set. The author defines a set of ``smooth'' functions on \(K\) and shows that they form a nuclear, spectral invariant dense Fréchet subalgebra of the algebra \(C(K)\) of complex continuous functions on \(K\). He then uses a ``smooth crossed product'' construction to obtain a dense, nuclear Fréchet subalgebra of the Cuntz algebra O\(_2\).
