The generalized Robertson-Walker (GRW) spacetimes form a remarkable class of Lorentzian warped product manifolds. The authors consider different conditions of semi-symmetric type, involving the curvature tensor or other derived tensors and study to what extent GRW spacetimes admit or not such geometries.
