The author considers the second-order difference equations \[ \Delta (p_{n-1}\Delta x_{n-1})+q_nx_n=0 \] and \[ \Delta (p_{n-1}\Delta y_{n-1})+q_n y_n=f(n,y_n). \] The asymptotic behavior of solutions to these equations are discussed, and conditions for the asymptotic equivalence of these solutions are established.
