Several energy formulations are derived, including Kirchoff-Love plate energy, first-order energy, and jerk energy. These formulations are based on a new paradigm for free-form surface over arbitrary quadrilateral meshes. The authors recall the underlying principles of the energy formulation, and then consider the various behaviours and resulting surfaces through examples.
