Let the author describe the contents of his paper in his own words: ``A class of regridding methods for solving a general second-order initial/boundary value problem is considered. A convergence study of this class of methods is presented and we conclude the supraconvergence phenomenon. As a particular case the method of lines can be considered and the same phenomenon can be observed. Finally we present a relationship between the regridding method introduced and the regridding criteria usually described in the literature and based on the equidistribution of some monitor function depending on the solution derivatives.'' The details of the author's theory are presented in easily readable form for a spatially one-dimensional linear parabolic initial-boundary value problem.
