The unsteady heat transfer of forced convection is studied for a heated cylinder placed in unsteady flow; the velocity fluctuations are less than the mean flow. The numerical method is carried out using nonlinear equations of the unsteady laminar boundary layer of an incompressible fluid for stagnation point. The numerical results are in agreement with the Lighthill analytical solutions [\textit{M. J. Lighthill}, Proc. R. Soc. 222A, 1-23 (1954; Zbl 0058.407)] for small frequencies; they also give supplementary information for the other frequencies. A review on steady and unsteady heat transfers for low and large Reynolds numbers is done with comparisons and corrections for some important results.
