The authors investigate a singularly perturbed semilinear parabolic equation in one-dimensional and two-dimensional space. Using both the method of lines and a difference scheme on a special nonuniform discretization mesh the numerical solution of the problem is obtained. Uniform convergence of first order accuracy for the presented method is proved.
