We study by means of the singular perturbation method the nonlinear stability problem for a truncated circular shallow spherical shell with a clamped external edge and free interior edge with a hole at the center under linear distributed loads along the interior edge. The uniformly valid asymptotic solutions of this boundary value problem are obtained for large values of a geometrical parameter, and the remainder terms are estimated. In addition, the more precise formula for the critical load is provided.
