The main result is the following: There exists a complete orthonormal system on the interval [0,1] relative to which the Fourier coefficients for functions from \(C\) and \(L^p\), \(p > 2\), have, on the whole, higher order of smallness than the Fourier-Haar coefficients for the same classes of functions.
