The main objectives of this paper are three-fold: 1) to show that ordinary, purely abstract perturbation methods can provide approximations by means of low order power series; 2) to propose new and improved approaches to groundwater flow problems; 3) to show that the results similar to those obtained by above methods may be derived in terms of direct interaction method. Some examples are given for illustration.
