Applications and refinements of Vince's construction (Q1311940)

In 1983 A. Vince proved the existence of a wide class of finite regular maps. Implicit in Vince's existence proof is a construction which was first examined explicitly by the author. In this paper the author explains the details of the construction and shows how it can be modified to produce examples of regular maps having specified properties. He gives various applications of the construction and makes clear that it is easy to implement on a computer.
