The authors introduce the notions of being Hausdorff and of compactness in \(L\)-fuzzy topological spaces, where \(L\) is a complete lattice. It is shown that every compact Hausdorff \(L\)-fuzzy topology in Lowen's sense which is \(L\)-completely distributive is topological (for the notion of being topological see the paper under review). Reviewer's remark: The authors use \(L\)-fuzzy topology in a generalized sense, for there is no polarity in \(L\).
