A stationary principle is formulated for static problems in nonlinear elasticity theory with the body boundary specified for the deformed state. Assuming material homogeneity, potential energy and complementary energy functionals are constructed for specified boundary conditions, together with Hu-Washizu and Tonti type functionals.
