Cauchy problems to linear and nonlinear weakly hyperbolic equations are considered. For some second-order nonlinear equations a theorem from [\textit{P. D'Ancona} and \textit{S. Spagnolo}, Indiana Univ. Math. J. 40, No. 1, 71-99 (1991; Zbl 0729.35012)] on local solvability for analytic data is quoted. A sketch of the proof is presented, for details see the reference above.
