Contact problems of elasticity theory for wedge-shaped regions under conditions of friction and adhesion (Q1315523)

In a two-dimensional formulation, the contact of an elastic punch pressed onto an elastic half-plane is investigated, where the contact area is divided into an inner adhesive region and two outer regions with Coulomb friction. An approximate analytical solution is presented where the problem is reduced to a Riemann vector problem, and formulae for the contact stresses are derived which are also valid for the contact stresses near the ends of the punch.
