By means of model analogs and the numerical solution of the initial equations it is shown that in the absence of continuous solutions of boundary layer equations with a given positive pressure gradient, when the information conveyed from the separation zone by the counterflow velocity field is taken into account, generalized solutions of the problem in the class of discontinuous functions may be formed and be mathematically meaningful.
