In the present study simple approximate analytic expressions for estimating the effect of the variability of the physical properties of the gas on the friction and heat transfer coefficients in laminar mixed connection on a horizontal plate are obtained in the general case (without using the Boussinesq assumption) by means of an integral- asymptotic method. In order to test the analytical results, the problem is also solved numerically.
