The authors propose a technique for the numerical solution of a nonlinear elliptic boundary value problem based on a fast method applied to a linear system and its parallel implementation. The algorithm developed is implemented and tested on a ring of transputers with the aim to examine its effectiveness as the number of processors and the problem size vary.
