The decomposition theorem for semi-Fredholm resolvents due to B. Gramsch and W. Kaballo is sharpened. More precisely, a condition on an Orlicz function \(\phi\) is given such that the singular part of the decomposition can be chosen meromorphic with values in \(N_ \phi\), the ideal of \(\phi\)-nuclear operators.
