Using the Skorokhod representation theorem the authors prove an almost sure central limit theorem for independent nonidentically distributed r.v.s. This extends results of \textit{G. A. Brosamler} [Math. Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 104, No. 3, 561-574 (1988; Zbl 0668.60029)] and \textit{M. T. Lacey} and \textit{W. Philipp} [Stat. Probab. Lett. 9, No. 3, 201-205 (1990; Zbl 0691.60016)].
