The article is a nice attempt to construct a bridge between the fractal geometry and porous materials, and as such will be of interest to experts in many aspects of analytical sciences. In particular, it tries to use the mathematical tools of fractal geometry to determine the flow pattern of gases and liquids in a porous medium when the pore distribution may be of various types. The analysis of flow through porous media is based on the classical Darcy law. It has been pointed out how Darcy law can be generalized by using the ideas of fractal geometry. Attempts have also been made to generalize the ideas of porosity, viscosity, pore pressure, etc. from the view point of fractal geometry. In short, the paper is more towards the application of the fractal geometry to porous media than towards the solution of a specific problem of the latter area.
