In order to describe a two-dimensional vortex motion of an incompressible fluid with an arbitrary vertical structure of the bottom Ekman boundary layer, a particular model is proposed. The generalized vorticity equation for this problem has solutions of the vorticity spot type with an uniform internal vorticity distribution. The mechanism of entrainment at the vorticity front is illustrated by an example of the evolution of the vorticity spots.
