Microvascular effects in blood flow in a blood vessel such as skeletal muscle are modelled by the introduction of parallel tubes and a porous zone. A set of partial differential equations is obtained, and a series of approximations is then made which result in a simple ordinary differential equation for steady flow. There is some discussion of the results, but very few numerical results are presented.
