Most of the paper deals with well-known parameter identification algorithms like LMS and RMS as well as their application to FIR and IIR systems. The authors regard a PRBS as a very badly exciting input signal for system identification and they show that -- in spite of this ``drawback'' -- they can identify the coefficients of the treated second order dynamical system. What a surprise! Filtering by a sliding window technique with mean and median calculation concludes the paper.
