Blichfeldt's method of density functions is modified so as to obtain upper bounds for the packing density of a body \(C\) in \(E^ d\). Reasonably good results are obtained in the cases when \(C\) is the outer parallel body of a convex body of dimension lower than \(d\) or is obtained as the Cartesian product of a ball and a body of lower dimension.
