We introduce two properties of the norm in a Banach space: the local property \((\beta)\) and the stream \((\beta)\). These properties are between the corresponding ones of rotundity and those similar to type \((\alpha)\). We prove that they are stable for generalized Banach products and we study the other hereditary properties.
