Basing on simple rank observations, the author proposes two conditions for the stable behaviour of the finite element method though there is no definition of what is meant by stability. So it remains open, how the two conditions can produce the connection to the exact solution, the essential part in all stability investigations. The conclusion of the author to replace the Ladyshenskaya-Babuška-Brezzi condition remains unproven.
