To generalize basic results of homotopy theory to other categories, the author defines homotopy relation, pseudo-product and pseudo-coproduct in general categories. Then pairing and copairing in categories are defined. With these concepts, basic results of many authors (Dula, Gottlieb, Hilton, Hoo, Lim, Oda, Varadajan, Woo and Kim) have categorical generalizations.
